Jason Benson
Jason Benson and his team at Thoroughbred Financial Solutions, joined LPL Financial December of 2017. Jason brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his role as a financial advisor from his past work experience with Investment Centers of America, A.G. Edwards and Smith Barney. His diverse background and training enables him to help clients pursue their long-term financial goals through comprehensive, individualized financial planning.
A comprehensive, client-focused approach to financial planning ensures that the recommended programs encompass each client’s financial goals, time frames, and risk tolerance. Mr. Benson specializes in financial advisory for non-profits and foundations. He works closely with clients to develop customized financial strategies that incorporate asset allocation, financial management, retirement planning, college planning, and succession planning.
Helping people, whether it’s planning for retirement or college expenses, is truly Mr. Benson’s passion. In addition to developing a custom financial strategy for each client, he conducts regular meetings with clients to review performance, reconfirm financial goals, and make adjustments as economic or lifestyle conditions warrant.
Jason Benson currently holds Series 7, 63, and 65 securities registrations with LPL Financial. In addition, he is licensed with the state of Oklahoma to offer long term care life insurance. Mr. Benson studied business at Cameron University for 2 years. He also is a chairman of the Monkey Island Fire Department board and a volunteer firefighter/EMT. Jason in happily married to his lovely wife, Amber. Away from the business, he enjoys golfing and spending time with family and friends.
Athena Grimes
Branch Operations Manager
Athena Grimes is a branch operations manager with LPL Financial. She joined the Thoroughbred Financial Solutions team in 2015 and oversees the operations of the branch on a day-to-day basis. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics Education from Northeastern State University of Oklahoma. After her seven-year career as a high school math teacher, Athena switched her career to the financial industry. She is married to her firefighter husband, Kevin, and has two children, Alexia and Stone.
Char Stroh
Marketing and Operations Manager
Char has been affiliated with Investment industry for over 10 years and which she has provided personalized sales support and marketing for several Financial Representatives. She assists Jason with any client service issues, technology support and help coordinate marketing efforts.
Char is a graduate of Minot State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Technology and Minor in Management Information Systems. Char, Neal, and their four children reside in North Dakota. The family loves to enjoy the North Dakota outdoor activities and recreation.
